The Global Procurement division is responsible for BASF's purchasing activities worldwide. We negotiate contracts that provide BASF with tangible added value. Our focus is on the procurement of raw materials, technical goods and services as well as logistics solutions. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
We are the AI & Analytics Group within the "Center of Excellence", an enthusiastic interdisciplinary group of engineers, game theorists, data scientists, and software engineers. With entrepreneurial spirit, we drive the global digital transformation of procurement. We are on the mission to make the lives of our colleagues easier through technological innovations. Our software facilities strategic decision making backed by innovative algorithmic solutions. You have the opportunity to support our team in the field of backend engineering for 6 months.
- Whether you have experience with React, Angular, Vue or any other framework, we know you can adapt to the development tools and operational platform currently in use.
- You quickly understand business problems, ask insightful questions, challenge assumptions, and proactively develop solution ideas. You take ownership of outcomes and ensure that solutions address the underlying user and business needs.
- Once requirements are clear, you independently turn ideas into high-quality frontend solutions, delivering at pace while maintaining a strong focus on usability and quality.
- Your way of working involves continuously inspecting and adapting, while constructively challenging existing solutions, processes, and assumptions.
- You collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, designers, and developers, communicating complex topics in a clear and pragmatic way.
WHAT YOU OFFER
- currently enrolled in a university program in Software Engineering, Software Development, Computer Science, or a related field
- experience and passion for TypeScript and React and its core principles, including state management (e.g., React Hooks, Context API, Redux, Axios is a plus)
- basic understanding of REST APIs and how to integrate them into a React application
- experience in Material design, Ant design or styled-components is a plus
- fluent English communications skills, German is an advantage

- Compensation - compensation is based on the collective agreement for the chemical industry. Based on a 20-hour working week, the monthly gross wage is currently €1,784.
- Flexible working hours - depending on the department, temporary full-time employment during the lecture-free period (semester break) is possible by arrangement.
