WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • Serving as the priary technical expert for FCC catalyst applications at customer sites, providing hands-on technical support, troubleshooting, unit optimization, performance improvement, and advising refinery operations and technical teams on catalyst selection and operational strategy.
  • Conducting FCC technical evaluations, simulations, and modeling to support recommendations, customer proposals, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Owning full P&L responsibility for assigned FCC accounts, including volume, margin, pricing, receivables, sales forecasting, CRM management, and account planning.
  • Developing and executing account strategies aligned with BASF’s FCC business objectives, including pricing, contract negotiations, and commercial terms with refinery customers.
  • Identifying and capturing new FCC business opportunities within existing and new refinery accounts, expanding account penetration through relationship mapping across technical and commercial stakeholders, and positioning BASF’s FCC catalyst portfolio to maximize market share in the region.
  • Building strong relationships with refinery engineers, operations teams, and decision-makers, acting as the interface between customers and internal BASF technical, R&D, and business teams, and representing BASF in customer meetings, technical reviews, and industry engagements.
  • Location: Fully remote role, ideally based in Southern Europe or the Mediterranean region to ensure proximity to key refinery customers.
  • Territory: Responsible for refinery accounts across Southern Europe and the Mediterranean area, with a dedicated focus on FCC catalyst applications.
  • Travel: Expected travel of approximately 30–50% to visit customer sites, support technical discussions, and strengthen business relationships across the assigned region.

WHAT YOU OFFER

  • Degree (BSc/MSc/PhD) in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related discipline.
  • Strong experience in refining with deep expertise in FCC operations and catalysts (mandatory).
  • Proven track record in a customer-facing FCC technical or commercial role.
  • Ability to perform FCC process analysis, modeling, and technical evaluations.
  • Experience managing multiple refinery accounts in an international environment.
  • Strong commercial mindset with demonstrated success in pricing and contract negotiations.
  • Familiarity with Southern Europe / Mediterranean refining landscape.
  • Expertise in FCC technology and refinery processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving capabilities and strategic thinking.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate independently in a remote, regional role.

  • CCNL (National Chemical Collective Agreement).
  • Gross annual salary (RAL) between €70,000 and €85,000, to be assessed based on the candidate’s skills and relevant experience.
