WHAT YOU WILL DO
By joining BASF’s Catalysts division, with exclusive focus on Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) applications within refinery customers across Southern Europe and the Mediterranean region, you will be:
- Serving as the primary technical expert for FCC catalyst applications at customer sites.
- Providing hands-on technical support, including troubleshooting, unit optimization, and performance improvement.
- Conducting FCC technical evaluations, simulations, and modeling to support recommendations and proposals.
- Advising refinery operations and technical teams on catalyst selection, performance, and operational strategy.
- Owning full P&L responsibility for assigned FCC accounts (volume, margin, pricing, receivables).
- Developing and executing account strategies aligned with BASF’s FCC business objectives.
- Managing pricing, contract negotiations, and commercial terms with refinery customers.
- Delivering accurate sales forecasts and managing CRM tools for account planning.
- Identifying and capturing new FCC business opportunities within existing and new refinery accounts.
- Expanding account penetration through relationship mapping across technical and commercial stakeholders.
- Positioning BASF’s FCC catalyst portfolio to maximize market share in the region.
- Building strong relationships with refinery engineers, operations teams, and decision-makers.
- Acting as the interface between customers and internal BASF technical, R&D, and business teams.
- Representing BASF in customer meetings, technical reviews, and industry engagements.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
- University degree (BSc, MSc or PhD) in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related disciplines.
- Strong background (at least 5 years of experience) in refining with deep expertise in FCC operations and catalysts.
- Proven track record in a customer-facing FCC technical or commercial role with demonstrated success in pricing and contract negotiations.
- Ability to perform FCC process analysis, modeling, and technical evaluations.
- Familiarity with Southern Europe / Mediterranean refining landscape.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Knowledge on any Mediterranean language is a plus.
- Availability to travel ~30–50% of your working time.
