In the Performance Materials Division, we develop innovative plastics and foams for all kinds of applications. Whether it is for cars, buildings or sports goods - we always look for the ideal material solution. To do this, we work closely with our customers: from production and logistics to research and sales, all the way to component testing, design consulting and simulation.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Our unit Global Information Management supports the Performance Materials division in all IT-relevant topics. This includes, in particular, the provision of tailor-made individual solutions. We are looking for you to join us as a working student for 20 hours per week.
- Working closely with your colleagues, you will support the design, development, testing, and implementation of AI-powered applications, such as copilot, intelligent agents, as well as digital solutions, using modern software and AI development methodologies.
- You will be at the forefront of innovation, contributing to Generative AI, Agentic AI, RAG, machine learning, as well as automation initiatives and developing application features, AI workflows, integrations, and reusable components. You will also support the development of backend services, APIs, user interfaces, and enterprise integrations, using technologies such as Python, FastAPI, SQL, Azure AI Services, and modern web frameworks.
- Furthermore you will contribute to the development and evaluation of AI assistants, knowledge systems, MCP-enabled services, tool integrations, and business-specific AI applications. Through testing, debugging, validation, monitoring, and performance analysis, you will continuously help improve the quality and optimization of these solutions.
- As part of proofs of concept, hackathons, innovation projects, and technology evaluations, you will explore new AI frameworks, development approaches, as well as engineering practices.
- Last but not least, you will create technical documentation, implementation guides, support materials, presentations, and knowledge-transfer content, helping to ensure the sustainable operation and successful adoption of the AI solutions developed.
WHAT YOU OFFER
-
ongoing Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a comparable field
-
initial practical experience in software or AI development and an interest in Generative AI, Agentic AI, Deep Learning, RAG, and LLM frameworks
-
very good Python skills and knowledge of HTML, CSS, as well as JavaScript
-
experience with FastAPI, SQL, Azure AI Services, or Angular is a plus
-
very good written and spoken English skills

strong problem-solving skills, a careful and analytical approach to work, and enthusiasm for teamwork, communication, and exploring new technologies

Remuneration – Remuneration is in accordance with the collective agreement for the chemical industry. With a weekly working time of 20 hours, the current gross monthly salary is €1,784.

Flexible working hours – depending on the assignment unit, temporary full-time employment during the lecture-free period (semester break) is possible by arrangement.
