WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Our Spectroscopy & Polymer Analytics team provides our partners with structural elucidation, identification, quantification, and polymer characterization using spectroscopic and chromatographic methods across BASF’s entire value chain.

  • You support interdisciplinary projects and develop innovative digital solutions for spectroscopic challenges, particularly in the field of NMR data analysis.
  • In addition, you develop and implement new machine learning models for complex spectroscopic data.
  • In close collaboration with our partners, you continuously expand and improve our digital portfolio while ensuring fast and cost-effective analytical services.
  • Last but not least, you prepare research proposals and scientific publications.

WHAT YOU OFFER

  • PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Chemistry, Analytics, or a related field
  • several years of experience in developing data pipelines, data architectures, and AI models
  • advanced knowledge of IR or NMR method development as well as pulse sequence programming is an advantage
  • fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
  • strong project management skills, a high level of data awareness, and the ability to apply digital technologies and methods to solve complex scientific challenges
  • experience in applying scientific AI is considered a plus
  • strong team spirit and passion for innovative, data-driven solutions
