WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

As part of our European portfolio management and trading team at BASF, you will take on a key role in managing energy market exposures and actively contribute to the development of trading strategies.

  • In your new position, you manage and optimize short-term exposure in Gas and Carbon markets.
  • Together with your colleagues, you develop, implement, and execute hedging and trading strategies across European energy markets.
  • Furthermore, you execute trades both OTC and on exchanges across different maturities and instruments.
  • Your expertise is in demand! You closely collaborate with Analytics and Origination teams to support informed trading decisions.
  • Not least, you ensure alignment with internal stakeholders and foster transparent communication within BASF.

WHAT YOU OFFER

  • degree in economics, energy economics, natural sciences or a comparable field
  • at least three years of professional experience in trading or portfolio management of energy commodities
  • strong understanding of at least two commodities (power, gas or carbon) as well as hands-on experience in trading, hedging and basic technical analysis
  • very good german and english skills as well as confident use of MS office; programming skills (e.g. python) are a plus
  • analytical team player with strong communication skills, high level of initiative and a structured way of working
