Internship Process Development for Syngas Plants (m/f/d)

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
During your internship in Process Development Petrochemicals, you will collaborate closely with colleagues from Technology, Operation, Materials Engineering and Research to analyze and optimize the operation of BASF's syngas plants. The internship will last four to six months, starting at May 16th. Main focus of the work will be on POX operation utilizing different kinds of feedstock (gaseous and liquids).
- You will analyze operation data and generate reconciled heat and mass balances using Aspen Plus.
- Dependencies of key performance indicators (e.g. soot formation, approach temperatures, etc.) will be analyzed and parameterized for deduction of best operational points.
- Additionally, you will support the plant operational team in troubleshooting and evaluation of Opex saving proposals.
WHAT YOU OFFER
- enrollment in a Master's program in Process Engineering or Chemical Engineering with a background in process control, flow measurement principles and heat transfer
- familiar with oxygen based syngas production routes
- experienced in process simulation and reconciliation using Aspen Plus
- fluent communication skills in English, German is a plus
