Come create chemistry with us!
BASF’s Agricultural Solutions division connects innovation, customers, partners and agricultural experts and integrates sustainability criteria into all business decisions. We help farmers deliver the best possible outcomes, working to achieve the balance between economic, environmental and social value creation for sustainable and efficient agriculture.
The Data & Analytics Specialist role will act as a liaison between the Data Strategy & Fulfillment Team, the broader Customer Solutions Team (CST), and a third-party data processor to ensure high-quality, well-governed customer data. The role supports the broader business by validating and analyzing transactional data, managing customer data, and overseeing critical issue-resolution processes so that data-driven fulfillment is timely, accurate, and consistent - especially as systems are integrated and master data rules must be enforced.
As a Data & Analytics Specialist, you create chemistry by...
- Supporting digital transformation initiatives, including requirements definition, data readiness, testing, and adoption for legacy-to-cloud platform migrations.
- Leading cross-functional working sessions with local, regional, and global stakeholders to standardize, streamline, and automate data processes and controls.
- Collaborating with service provider to define and deliver data quality monitoring, KPIs, controls, and issue detection, translating findings into prioritized remediation actions.
- Delivering customer and program analytics, including behavior insights, reward and claim patterns, and ad hoc analysis to support business decisions.
- Leading customer master data (CMD) processes and stewardship activities across business segments to support accurate sales reporting, go-to-market execution, and incentive payout integrity.
- Coordinating with third-party data processors, IT, and enterprise data teams to enforce business rules and resolve data defects within agreed service levels.
- Owning end-to-end data validation and issue resolution workflows, including triage, root-cause analysis, and corrective action coordination across teams.
- Managing customer and sales master data, including hierarchy and alignment-related attributes, to ensure consistency across integrated systems.
- Coordinating periodic data cutovers/lockdowns for fulfillment and reporting, ensuring readiness, auditability, and on-time execution with downstream teams.
- Building and maintaining executive-ready dashboards and recurring performance reporting with clear definitions, governance, and stakeholder alignment.
- Partnering with Commercial Operations, Marketing, Customer Service and other teams to identify optimization opportunities, quantify impacts, and support implementation through change management.
If you have...
- A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field (required). Master’s degree or MBA would be an asset.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in data analytics, and/or master data management, with demonstrated leadership in cross-functional initiatives (required).
- Experience leading through influence in a matrixed environment, balancing regional/global standards with local business needs and driving change adoption.
- Ability to develop a strong understanding of BASF Agricultural Solutions’ business context, go-to-market model, and end-to-end commercial processes (customer, sales, incentives/loyalty rewards, and fulfillment).
- Proven stakeholder management skills, with a strong customer-experience mindset and the ability to translate business needs into clear data requirements.
- Deep understanding of customer data concepts, including customer hierarchies, attributes, and lifecycle management.
- Hands-on analytics experience with tools such as SQL (e.g., T-SQL/MySQL) and Python, including data profiling, validation, and root-cause analysis.
- Proficiency with Power BI and/or Tableau (or similar tools) to deliver trusted, executive-ready dashboards with well-defined metrics.
- Experience using Azure DevOps and/or JIRA (or similar ticketing tools) to manage intake, prioritization, and issue resolution in partnership with IT and vendors.
- Strong understanding of Canadian privacy and consent requirements (including PIPEDA and CASL) and how they apply to customer data governance and usage.
