Technical Agronomy Summer Intern – Grow Your Future with BASF

 

As a Technical Agronomy Summer Intern, you’ll be part of a team that’s shaping the future of agriculture while building your own career foundation.

 

Internship Details:

 

  • Duration: 4 months (Summer 2027)
  • Location: Edmonton, AB and Red Deer, AB
  • Compensation: $25 - $32 / Hour

What You’ll Learn:

 

  • Agronomic trial design and execution.
  • Crop evaluation techniques including plant vigor and stand counts.
  • Safe operation of ATVs, sprayers, and farm equipment.
  • Stakeholder engagement and professional communication.
  • Time management and independent work in a regional setting.

What You’ll Do:

 

  • Organize and manage large-scale trials (e.g., InVigor Demonstration Strip Trials).
  • Conduct evaluations on seed treatments, herbicides, and fungicides.
  • Support customer tours and presentations.
  • Operate ATVs and pull-behind sprayers.
  • Transport equipment between trial sites.
  • Complete and present a demand creation or research project.

What We’re Looking For:

 

  • Currently enrolled in an agriculture science or related degree program.
  • Enthusiastic about agronomy and eager to learn.
  • Strong communicator with a commitment to safety.
  • Able to travel within your assigned region and work independently.
  • Valid driver’s licence required.
  • Experience with farm equipment and sprayers is an asset.

 

To be eligible for this internship, you must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary program and returning to studies following the internship. Applications from individuals who have already graduated will not be considered.
