We are looking for a Senior Account Manager - High Tech Leafy to join our Agricultural Solutions team for our Vegetable Seeds business. The ideal candidate will be located in the Mid-Southern US, but open to other locations in the continental US.
The Senior Account Manager will develop, plan and execute sales initiatives for strategic accounts to initiate, sustain, and grow business over time. They will cultivate long‑term partnerships with national and international customers, aligned with the marketing and sales strategy and BASF Vegetable Seeds’ objectives to drive both profitability and lasting collaboration. The role connects strategic accounts with retail and internal crop, trials, product development, and marketing teams to translate varietal performance into credible customer recommendations and growth opportunities.

As a Sr. Account Manager - High Tech Leafy, you create chemistry by...
- Planning, reviewing, adapting, and executing annual sales and Key Customer Plans for assigned strategic accounts. Establishing customer priorities, sales targets, key performance indicators, and crop marketing actions that contribute to the annual budget plan.
- Leading and coordinating customer trialing activities in order to demonstrate the value of commercial and pre-commercial assortment. Working with customers, Agrotechnologists, Product Development Specialists and crop teams to define objectives, establish trials, monitor progress, evaluate results, document varietal performance, and translate findings into customer recommendations, product advancement decisions, and commercial opportunities.
- Representing the company and introducing value-based proposals that address key customer needs, build long-term partnerships, and generate sustainable sales. Managing relevant connections between customers and leading retailers in the region.
- Leading cross-functional customer teams to provide solutions to customer needs and challenges, improve customer-facing processes, share information, overcome objections, and strengthen the customer experience with Nunhems.
- Providing market, price, product, grower, retailer, and consumer insights to support crop vision, strategy, positioning, and portfolio decisions.
- Collaborating across crop, sales, marketing, trials, and product development teams to implement crop strategy, promote new introductions, and ensure learning from customer trials is shared and applied.
If you...
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, horticulture, plant science, business, or a related field.
- Bring 5–8 years of sales or strategic account management experience in vegetable seed, produce, horticulture, or a related agricultural business.
- Apply well-rounded vegetable seed business knowledge and strong agronomic expertise, preferably in Controlled Environment Agriculture.
- Previous experience planing, coordinatinating, monitoring, evaluating, and communicating customer trials and varietal performance with customers and internal specialists, preferred.
- Leverage advanced consultative selling skills, including negotiation, value-based proposals, sales planning, and closing.
- Demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset and influence decisions across diverse functions and stakeholder groups.
- Manage projects and competing customer, sales, and trial priorities effectively, with prior project management experience, preferred.
- Lead, coach, align, and mobilize cross-functional customer teams without direct authority.
- Develop turnkey solutions for customers and retailers by leveraging knowledge of leading U.S. retailers and the broader customer production ecosystem.
- Communicate effectively in written and spoken English, with bilingual English and Spanish skills preferred, and use Microsoft Office and CRM systems at a working level.

Pay transparency
BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $88,160 - $121,220. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
