As a Senior Seeds & Traits Portfolio Lead, Soy, you create chemistry by...

• Shaping and owning the long-term global Seeds & Traits portfolio strategy for the Soy Crop System across Drive and Non-Drive Countries, identifying strategic opportunities and translating priorities into portfolio choices and investment recommendations.
• Leading complex global trait launches and new crop or country introductions, establishing governance, cross-functional plans, and milestones covering branding, positioning, licensing, regulatory inputs, and demand forecasts.
• Creating integrated Soy solutions across Seeds & Traits, Crop Protection, and Digital Farming, defining the role of new technologies within the complete BASF crop offer.
• Influencing major portfolio, commercialization, and resource decisions by integrating market potential, trait and germplasm performance, regulatory feasibility, and financial implications into senior recommendations.
• Leading strategic seed and trait licensing opportunities globally, identifying in-licensing and out-licensing opportunities and shaping negotiation positions and commercial models.
• Serving as the recognized global Seeds & Traits authority for the Soy Crop System, representing the portfolio in senior governance and strategy forums.
• Acting as a role model, coach, and capability builder across the organization, mentoring launch and portfolio colleagues and sharing best practices across Drive and Non-Drive Countries. 

If you...

• Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Plant Breeding, Seed Science, Biology, Business, Marketing, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus. 
• Bring 15+ years of experience in Seeds & Traits, crop systems, portfolio management, trait commercialization, strategic marketing, or related agricultural businesses.
• Have a proven track record leading global or multi-regional seed, trait, licensing, or commercialization initiatives.
• Influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across functions, business units, and geographies.
• Demonstrate expertise in integrating technical, commercial, regulatory, breeding, supply chain, and licensing considerations into strategic decisions.
• Possess deep knowledge of trait launch strategy, agronomic positioning, integrated solutions, licensing, and go-to-market execution.
• Apply strong business and financial acumen to portfolio strategy, investment decisions, and long-term value creation.
• Excel in executive communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, and leading global cross-functional teams.
