We are looking for a Portfolio Solutions Manager - Crop System Wheat to join our Agricultural Solutions team for our BASF Crop System Wheat business in North America (Canada/USA) in Research Triangle Park, NC.
The Portfolio Solutions Manager is part of the Portfolio Solutions team within Crop System Wheat and shapes what BASF offers wheat and canola growers in Canada and the USA, translating market and value-chain insight into actionable portfolio ideas, incubating integrated solutions and sustainability-based business models, and preparing successful concepts for scaling.

As a Portfolio Solutions Mgr- CS Wheat, NA, you create chemistry by...
- Developing and maintaining a current view of market trends and needs across growers, distribution, processors and downstream value-chain players in wheat and canola, translating analysis into clear implications for BASF offerings in Canada and the USA.
- Collaborating with country and Crop System teams to convert trends and unmet needs into actionable ideas, incubating concepts through new business models or integrated portfolio approaches across crop protection, seeds & traits, digital farming and sustainability.
- Driving and implementing pilots of business models based on sustainability benefits with country teams and the CCO organization, proving market value and establishing the conditions required for broader rollout.
- Building commercially and factually robust business cases to secure global prioritization and funding for required tools and portfolio adjustments through LCM prioritization, xarvio or selling-cost funding.
- Driving integrated cross-selling by positioning and launching the Crop System portfolio as one customer offering rather than an indication-by-indication set of products.
- Supporting the Portfolio Solutions strategy and driving country roadmaps for the USA and Canada, including MarCom toolbox elements that make the integrated solution visible and usable for country teams and customers.
If you...
- Hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in Marketing, Sales, Business, Agribusiness, Ag Communications or a related discipline.
- Bring 15+ years of relevant experience, including portfolio strategy, commercial or market development, business case development, and cross-functional work in agriculture or a comparable industry.
- Have experience translating market and value-chain insights into customer-centric offerings, pilots, launches or scalable business models.
- Have a strong understanding of wheat and canola markets, grower needs, distribution, processors and downstream value-chain dynamics in Canada and the USA.
- Bring strong business-case capability, including commercial logic, fact-based recommendations, prioritization and funding requests.
- Have knowledge of integrated portfolio solutions spanning crop protection, seeds & traits, digital farming and sustainability, and the capability to design, implement and evaluate pilots and define conditions for scaling.
- Show strong stakeholder management, collaboration and communication skills across global, regional and country teams, with a customer-centric mindset that positions one portfolio solution rather than separate indication-based products.
- Have experience with carbon sequestration, measuring, or farming as well as experience in traceability and sustainability programs.
- Have experience working across countries and functions (marketing, sales, R&D, digital and sustainability) is preferred.
