We are looking for a Director, Crop Protection Portfolio Development – Soy Crop System to join our Agricultural Solutions team in RTP, NC. 

The Director, CP Portfolio Development – Soy is the global executive leader accountable for defining and directing the crop protection portfolio strategy across the Soy Crop System, including soy, corn, and cotton segments. This role translates enterprise and crop-system priorities into globally integrated portfolio choices, development plans, regulatory and life-cycle strategies, and leads a global team of approximately eight Portfolio Development Managers.

As a Director, CP Portfolio Development – Soy Crop System, you create chemistry by...

• Setting and owning the global CP portfolio strategy for the Soy Crop System, establishing long-range ambition, strategic priorities, and investment logic across soy, corn, and cotton.
• Directing global portfolio development and launch governance, accounting for the end-to-end progression of priority products from development strategy through post-launch optimization.
• Leading and developing the global CP Portfolio Development organization, setting accountabilities for approximately eight Portfolio Development Managers across Drive and Non-Drive countries.
• Shaping enterprise investment and resource decisions by integrating market attractiveness, technical differentiation, regulatory feasibility, and P&L implications into executive recommendations.
• Establishing portfolio performance management and continuous improvement, defining leading and lagging indicators and intervening where delivery is off track.

If you...

• Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Chemistry, Biology, Business, Marketing, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Bring 15+ years of progressive experience in crop protection, strategic marketing, portfolio management, or related agricultural businesses.
• Have 10+ years of people leadership experience, including leading senior professionals and global, geographically dispersed teams.
• Demonstrate a proven track record in shaping global or multi-regional portfolio strategies, driving major investment decisions, and managing product life cycles.
• Successfully influence executive stakeholders and lead complex cross-functional initiatives, often without direct authority.
• Have experience with third-party licensing agreements, strategic partnerships, alliance management, and portfolio-related financial decisions.
• Have advanced external orientation, negotiation, and partnership capability for in-licensing, out-licensing, and portfolio collaborations.  
• Possess strong strategic business acumen, translating market trends, customer needs, and regulatory developments into portfolio growth opportunities.

• Excel at organizational leadership, talent development, succession planning, and building high-performing teams.
