Internship Program: Research & Development - Summer 2027

Location: This is a field-based opportunity with coverage across several U.S. locations, rather than being solely based in Research Triangle Park, NC.

The Grow@BASF Internship Program gives undergraduate students the opportunity to apply what they are learning in the classroom to meaningful, real-world assignments while developing both technical and professional skills.

Students will be hired and employed through a third-party contracting agency - Raise Recruiting.Opportunities are based on business needs at our sites.

BASF's Grow@BASF internship programs were created to provide highly motivated, mobile-minded university students with opportunities to enhance their professional skills through diverse learning experiences.

As a Research & Development intern, you will contribute to real-world projects while gaining hands-on experience within BASF's Agricultural Solutions business. You will work alongside experienced BASF professionals and mentors, develop technical and professional skills, and gain exposure to the research and innovation behind BASF's agricultural solutions.

Program Summary:

As a highly motivated undergraduate student, you will participate in a 12-week summer internship working alongside a mentor and BASF Research & Development teams.

Depending on your assignment, your experience may include:

• Supporting Research & Development projects and field research activities.
• Assisting with agricultural trials, which may include seed treatment, fungicide, herbicide and other crop-related research.
• Collecting, organizing and analyzing trial and research data.
• Monitoring trials, documenting observations and providing feedback on results.
• Assisting with testing, troubleshooting and identifying potential process improvements or solutions.
• Supporting the setup, maintenance and execution of field trials and research projects.
• Collaborating with BASF scientists, researchers, agronomists and other team members.
• Participating in research tours, demonstrations, presentations and other learning opportunities.
• Building technical knowledge and gaining hands-on exposure to agricultural research and product development.

Mobility is important for this program

Internship assignments may be located in a variety of locations throughout the United States, including BASF's North American headquarters in the Raleigh, NC area.

Throughout the summer, interns will receive ongoing feedback, mentorship and professional development opportunities. Interns will be assessed for potential future opportunities, which may include a returning internship or, where applicable, a full-time opportunity within one of BASF's Professional Development rotational programs.
