The Professional Development Program Experience

Accelerate your career in an early-career role with BASF Agricultural Solutions. BASF’s Professional Development Programs, or PDPs, offer driven, mobile-minded university graduates the opportunity to launch their careers through immersive, real-world experiences. Participants rotate through diverse roles within our business, gaining hands-on exposure to cross-functional teams and meaningful business challenges.

The program is designed to build professional skills, foster meaningful connections, and provide a holistic view of BASF’s operations through mentoring, executive engagement, site tours, and training seminars. Throughout the program, participants develop a strong foundation in BASF’s systems and processes while building their professional networks and exploring their career interests. With structured support and a focus on growth, the PDP experience empowers participants to solve complex problems and contribute to impactful work. Upon successful completion, participants may be considered for placement into a permanent role related to their program experience.

Engineering PDP Program Summary

As a highly motivated upcoming graduate, you will participate in a 24-month rotational development program consisting of two 12-month assignments across BASF Agricultural Solutions engineering and manufacturing locations. The program is designed to strengthen your technical foundation, leadership behaviors, business acumen, and site-based experience while preparing you for permanent engineering placement.

Throughout your rotations, you will contribute to meaningful engineering work while gaining exposure to areas such as process engineering, reliability and asset management, project and capital execution, electrical systems, controls and automation, manufacturing excellence, continuous improvement, and technology and digital engineering

You will work across sites, functions, engineering disciplines, and stakeholder groups to better understand how engineering decisions support safe, reliable, efficient, and sustainable operations. Your experiences, project outcomes, competency development, and feedback will help guide your growth and future placement within the organization.
