Position Summary
The Field Officer - rice is responsible for supporting demand generation activities, promoting BASF crop protection solutions, and driving product adoption among farmers, distributors, and retailers within the assigned territory. The role focuses on field execution, customer engagement, technical support, and market development to achieve business objectives.
Job Responsibilities
1. Product Promotion & Demand Generation
* Conduct product demonstrations
* Organize farmer meetings, field days, and crop clinics.
* Promote BASF products and technologies to farmers and channel partners.
* Support marketing campaigns and product launch activities.
2. Farmer Engagement
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with farmers and key influencers.
* Conduct regular farm visits to understand customer needs.
* Provide recommendations on crop protection solutions and best farming practices.
3. Technical Support
* Monitor crop conditions, pest, disease, and weed infestations.
* Assist farmers with product application methods and stewardship practices.
* Collect field performance data and feedback on BASF products.
4. Channel Partner Support
* Work closely with distributors, dealers, and retailers to increase product awareness and demand.
* Assist in dealer training and promotional activities.
* Support inventory movement through demand creation initiatives.
5. Market Intelligence
* Monitor competitor activities, product performance, and market trends.
* Gather customer insights and provide regular reports to the sales team.
* Identify new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
6. Compliance & Stewardship
* Ensure all activities comply with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
* Promote responsible and sustainable use of crop protection products.
* Support product stewardship and container recycling programs.
Job Requirements
* Have at least Diploma or equivalent.
* Experience in agriculture, crop protection, seed business, or sales promotion is an advantage.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Able to work independently and travel extensively within the assigned territory.
* Possess a valid driving license and own vehicle for work purpose.
