WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

In our C-API unit you are the cyber security authority for Agricultural Solutions. You set the security strategy, standards and governance in line with AP and BASF Group requirements, own the overall cyber risk position and make the calls when security and business priorities collide. You make sure that our digital products, platforms and infrastructure are secure by design and resilient in operation, and you work through the cyber organisation, the platform owners and our partners to deliver that across the whole business.

• In your new role, you shape and continuously develop the cyber and information security strategy for Agricultural Solutions together with relevant stakeholders and translate it into a comprehensive framework of governance, standards, policies, controls and clear responsibilities aligned with business needs, regulatory requirements and BASF Group requirements.
• Together with the cyber organization, platform and digital product owners and our technology partners, you develop an effective security operating model and foster security-by-design and zero-trust principles across applications, cloud environments, infrastructure, networks and digital products, while providing direction for identity and access management, privileged access management and information protection.
• In close collaboration with the relevant teams, you guide enterprise cyber risk management and create transparency around risks, controls, security KPIs and compliance; at the same time, you strengthen cyber defense, threat detection, vulnerability management and incident response and provide senior-level guidance for coordinated containment, recovery and learning during major security incidents.
• You contribute to holistic business resilience by connecting cyber security with business continuity, disaster recovery and crisis management and by working closely with manufacturing, engineering and operations colleagues to establish appropriate protection for OT, production environments, connected systems and IT/OT interfaces.
• Together with digital, data, legal, procurement and business stakeholders, you enable the secure use of AI, cloud technologies, automation and digital ecosystems, strengthen third-party and supply-chain cyber risk management, and align security investments, external partnerships and the development of the cyber organization with risk reduction and sustainable business value.

WHAT YOU OFFER

• a master's degree in computer science, information security, engineering or a comparable field; a recognized security certification such as CISSP or CISM is an advantage
• extensive professional experience in information and cyber security, including several years in a security leadership role within a complex, international enterprise environment
• in-depth knowledge of security governance and risk frameworks such as ISO 27001 and NIST, combined with experience in security operations, incident response and securing cloud, OT and outsourced service environments
• business-fluent English; German or Spanish language skills are an advantage
• appreciative and clear communication, empathy and a collaborative mindset, combined with the ability to assess complex risks thoughtfully in challenging situations and communicate them clearly to senior management
• enthusiasm for providing orientation, supporting the development of people and teams, as well as fostering an open, learning-oriented and responsible security culture together with colleagues
