WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

We in Agricultural Solutions are preparing to be an independent, pure-play agricultural company within BASF group. To be ready for independence, we are looking for you to join us in our new Corporate roles (see here: build your career on our Standalone Transformation).

To bridge the gap, you will be employed by BASF SE on a temporary basis with the simultaneous binding promise of permanent employment in the new company.

• In your new position, you define and steer the procurement strategy for assigned Indirects categories, translating AP targets into a clear multi-year value roadmap and measurable outcomes.
• Right in the heart of things, you lead the assigned category portfolio, ensure clear prioritization as well as govern the sourcing pipeline to secure focus, transparency and impact.
• Your expertise is in demand as you ensure the delivery of validated value across assigned spend, including cash and EBIT savings, cost avoidance and strict adherence to approved budgets.
• Leadership with heart and mind: you enforce procurement governance standards within scope, covering sourcing thresholds, supplier segmentation and contracting discipline while driving consistent application across BUs and sites.
• Furthermore, you own strategic supplier management for your categories, proactively managing performance, risk mitigation, innovation and compliance, while leading and developing a team of category managers.

WHAT YOU OFFER

• master’s degree in business, economics, engineering or a comparable field
• at least ten years of professional experience in procurement, category management or a comparable environment, ideally within a complex, international organization
• strong expertise in strategic sourcing, value delivery, supplier management and procurement governance frameworks
• excellent English language skills as well as initial experience with AI-powered tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot)
• strong leadership and communication skills combined with strategic thinking, analytical strength, initiative and a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset
