We are looking for a Head of Environmental, Health & Safety Services to join our Agricultural Solutions team in Canada. The this role will be located in Calgary, AB or Saskatoon, SK, Canada (Hybrid/Remote Canada Considered)

The Head of EHS Services provides leadership in health, safety, and environmental regulations to ensure a safe working environment and license to operate for our Agricultural Solutions business in Canada. The role drives, coordinates, localizes, and supports EHS programs, management systems, and related EHS sustainability efforts across the organization, and leads a team of EHS professionals located throughout Canada to optimize the effectiveness of EHS programs and initiatives and support compliance with legal and BASF/AP internal requirements at all sites.

As a Head of EHS Services - Canada, you create chemistry by...

• Steering the AP EHS management system in Canada, implementing and continuously improving EHS governance and services for the entire organization, and supporting BASF/AP management on EHS priorities. 
• Leading the Canada AP EHS team, including resource planning, knowledge management, and employee and organizational development. 
• Functionally leading all site-specific EHS resources within AP in Canada. 
• Ensuring compliance with Responsible Care, local legal, and other EHS-related AP-internal standards at AP sites, contract manufacturers, suppliers, and warehouses in Canada, and driving continuous improvement across all RC codes. 
• Driving and continuously improving a OneAP EHS culture in Canada. 
• Staying ahead of upcoming changes to the Canadian regulatory framework, evaluating their impact on AP, and developing appropriate measures. 
• Identifying and sharing best practices within the Canada AP EHS community and beyond and developing and reporting EHS KPIs to drive improvement in EHS management and performance. 

If you have...

• Hold an M.S. degree (or a B.S. with significant experience) in Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health Sciences, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related EHS discipline. 
• Contribute 10+ years of EHS experience, with a strong focus on driving sustainable EHS management systems and continuous improvement. 
• Apply expertise across safety disciplines, including behavior-based safety, process safety, industrial hygiene, biosafety, and environmental programs. 
• Utilize your knowledge of Canadian EHS regulations to support compliance and operational excellence, preferred. 
• Lead projects and initiatives with strong communication, leadership, and project management skills. 
• Develop talent and guide teams through change, fostering adoption of new ways of working. 
• Implement EHS policies and procedures across diverse operational environments, including manufacturing sites, farms, and laboratories. 
• Leverage experience with Responsible Care principles, preferably across multiple locations and business settings. 
• Influence stakeholders through effective collaboration, change management, and communication skills. 
• Support EHS capital projects, including design reviews, management of change, and safe start-up processes. 
• Conduct incident investigations and root cause analyses to identify risks and drive corrective actions. 
• Are able to travel up to 10%.
