We are looking for a Customer Service Specialist to join our Agricultural Solutions team supporting our BASF | Nunhems vegetable seeds business in Parma, ID.

 

As a Customer Service Specialist, you will support domestic and international sales efforts by ensuring the effective execution of customer service, sales support, and administrative processes that contribute to customer satisfaction. You will serve as a key liaison between customers, the sales network, and internal stakeholders, helping facilitate the activities required to support business operations. In addition, you will provide administrative support to the Regional Head of Customer Service while maintaining the flexibility to support master data and traffic functions as needed.

During your shift as a Customer Service Specialist, you will...

 

  • Lead customer and sales support activities by ensuring you will initiate, manage, and follow up on customer orders throughout the order management process. Additionally, you will support formal sales processes including order-taking, invoicing, information maintenance, and professional communication with customers and stakeholders to help achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Resolve order-related challenges by actively seeking solutions when organizational constraints prevent customer expectations from being met. Furthermore, you will serve as a focal point for issue resolution and will work closely with Sales and other stakeholders to identify suitable alternatives or substitutions when required.
  • Maintain effective communication across internal and external stakeholder groups by ensuring you will provide information regarding processes, delays, requirements, inventory availability, shipping status, and related operational matters. In addition, you will remain actively engaged with customers and cross-functional partners including Sales, Inventory, Quality, and other internal and external network contacts throughout the order management process.
  • Support the Regional Head of Customer Service by providing administrative assistance and helping monitor and develop key performance indicators (KPIs). Additionally, you will contribute to activities that support departmental performance objectives and reporting needs.
  • Serve as a trained backup resource for Master Data activities when needed. This will include reviewing, entering, updating, validating, and maintaining regional marketing and sales master data based on assignments from the global team, advising stakeholders on request status, and assisting with annual projects such as pricing and assortment reviews.
  • Provide backup support for Traffic operations when required by applying established procedures and guidelines for inbound and outbound shipments. Furthermore, you will create shipping documentation, schedule shipments, manage communications, and work with internal and external stakeholders across domestic, import, and export activities.

If you...

 

  • Hold a High School Diploma as a minimum educational requirement. Additionally, a Bachelor's Degree or some college education is preferred.
  • Have 2+ years of experience in Customer Service, Traffic/Logistics, or an upper-level administrative support role. 
  • Possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills that enable you to effectively support customers, stakeholders, and internal business partners, as well as demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Are capable of moving fluidly between multiple roles and responsibilities while effectively managing ambiguity. In addition, you will be expected to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously and adapt to changing business priorities.
  • Have strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience working with ERP systems. 
  • Are able to travel up to 5%, mostly domestic.
