WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Our Cell Biology & Resistance unit investigates the modes of action and resistance mechanisms of fungicides and identifies new targets for innovative solutions. We are looking for you from November 2026 until the end of 2027, with the possibility of an extension.
- In your new role, you establish new molecular biological methods for detecting resistance and apply them in the laboratory.
- You work with various sequence databases and sequence formats and prepare relevant sequence information for further investigations.
- Furthermore, you perform bioinformatic analyses of DNA and protein sequences, interpret the data obtained and document the results.
- In addition, you generate fungicide-resistant mutants through targeted and random mutagenesis, thereby supporting the investigation of resistance mechanisms.
WHAT YOU OFFER
- completed degree in biology or a comparable qualification
- expert knowledge of microbiology, molecular biology and biochemistry as well as knowledge of phytopathology
- in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge of bioinformatics and scientific working methods
- sound knowledge of fungal and plant cultivation, laboratory procedures, and the handling of analytical equipment and chemicals, as well as MS Office
- very good German and English language skills
