WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Join our Agricultural Products Environmental Fate and support us as Geodata Steward. As Geodata Steward, you contribute to the organization, development and implementation of GIS (Geographic Information System) projects and geodata related activities within the field of Agricultural Solutions of BASF.

 

  • In this context, you consolidate the geodata requirements of different user groups from research and development, marketing and sales.
  • This includes data acquisition, documentation and geodata management on existing platforms (e.g. ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise).
  • You act as a central contact person for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Moreover, you conduct independently project related geodata processing tasks, e.g. the classification of high resolution land use maps, interpolation of spatial data or detection of landscape elements via remote sensing data.

WHAT YOU OFFER

  • master's degree in geography, geoinformatics, computer science with a focus on spatial data science or comparable
  • in-depth experience with relevant (meta)data standards, structures and formats for large datasets in space and time
  • experience with geographic information systems (GIS) including the ESRI software family, especially with ArcGIS Enterprise
  • programming skills, ideally Python programming related to ArcGIS products (e.g. ArcGIS API for Python, geopandas)
  • knowledge in the field of remote sensing and professional experience in agriculture are an advantage
  • excellent communication skills in English, German and/or other languages are a plus

  • Gross annual salary (full-time): 59.000 - 61.000 €, depending on qualifications and professional experience - In addition, you can expect a bonus dependent on the company's success
