We are looking for a Ag Strategic Account Manager to join our Agricultural Solutions team to support customers in the Western Cornbelt to the West Coast of US.

As an Ag Strategic Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing long-term relationships and growth at Strategic accounts. You will meet BASF specified targets by creating value for the existing customer base and prospecting for new opportunities with products, services, and/or solutions from BASF. You will be based in a Mid-West / West state (AZ, CA, CO, IA, ID, KS, MT, NE, ND, OR, SD, WA ), allowing you to service your local Strategic accounts. Your main geography will be regional in scope covering mostly the Western Coast of US and west region of the Midwest (and some other regions of US).

- Managing strategic customer accounts, delivering value through BASF’s products, services, and solutions.
- Managing business relationships with assigned channel partners, which may include Corporate and/or Regional Business relationships.
- Developing an approved 3 Year Business Plan as part of the business planning cycle with assigned channel partners and function as part of the Strategic Account Team that sets and implements channel and marketing strategy.
- Disseminating BASFs core strategy, channel goals, and objectives throughout all levels of the Channel’s organization, ensuring all key influencers fully understand and support the strategic direction and goals.
- Communicating and facilitating sales responsibilities with Regional and District managers, allowing for effective business solutions to be developed representing mutually successful and profitable results. Thinking strategically and with high self-motivation, you will ensure BASF is positioned as a preferred supplier.
- Identifying business opportunities for assigned distributor(s), working with relevant BASF groups to provide required resources to meet such opportunities and set and agree to stretch targets with the Channel and BASF Management that will be monitored monthly.
If you...
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agricultural Business, Science, or a related field, plus 15 years’ relevant experience (or an MBA with 13 years’ relevant experience).
- Have a minimum of 15 years of experience in Account Management, Field Sales Management, Marketing, and/or Business Development within the agricultural field.
- Demonstrate your understanding of distribution, the go-to-market systems, business cycles, and competitive relationships of channel accounts.
- Show strong business acumen and demonstrated understanding of the US Seed & Crop Protection market, specifically the relationship of the Distributor/Channel partner within the major US row-crop markets.
- Have account Management experience (particularly with Regional or National Accounts), persuasive selling and demonstrated negotiation skills.
- Possess a willingness and ability to travel a minimum of 70% of the time, primarily domestically.
- Reside in the Mid-West / West States of US (AZ, CA, CO, IA, ID, KS, MT, NE, ND, OR, SD, WA) to effectively support key geographies.

Pay transparency
BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $154,400 - $212,300. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
