Area:

In the HUB of Montevideo, we have the Financial Reporting area, which is responsible for ensuring that the financial statements are completed correctly, complying with local and international regulations. Monthly, quarterly, and annual reports are prepared, collaborating with Local Finance, Controlling, and the parent company. At the end of the month, all information is gathered from the SAP System modules, and then we report our Financial and Operational versions in our official system.

 

Main Objective of the Position:

 Perform daily tasks and periodic analyses related to Asset & Lease Accounting, in accordance with established work procedures and adhering to BASF policies, Financial Reporting Compliance (FRC), and regulatory requirements, ensuring accurate reporting to the headquarters

 

Main Tasks:

  • Be responsible for the management and handling of lease contract data for the BASF Group in North America, ensuring the quality of accounting information in SAP and other databases.

  • Provide guidance and support to businesses in the application of IFRS16 for new lease contracts.

  • Support businesses in the estimation and projection of costs associated with lease contracts.

  • Work on the preparation of Notes to the financial statements.

  • Collaborate on tasks related to fixed assets and account reconciliations.

  • Maintain constant and proactive communication with various clients and stakeholders, working closely with different areas of the organization.

  • Understand the end to end process and its impact within the workflow, evaluate and propose process improvements.

  • Assist in tasks relevant to the entire organization such as: Audit, Internal Control, Implementation of changes and Projects, among others.

 

Minimum Education and Qualification Requirements for the Position:

  • Education | Advanced student or graduate in Certified Public Accounting or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration

  • Work Experience | Between 4 and 5 years of experience in accounting or related areas

  • Languages | Mandatory advanced English, both oral and written

  • Technical Skills | Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is a must. Knowledge of Macros, programming languages, and SAP is valued. Familiarity with accounting standards, particularly IFRS, is highly valued.

  • Soft Skills | Strong teamwork skills and excellent communication abilities
