Area:
Environmental, Health & Safety is a Hub team that interacts regionally and globally with different business units and sites, providing services related to ecology, hygiene, safety, and quality. EHS is divided into two main areas: Product Safety—which provides support to businesses to ensure that products comply with health and safety regulations and standards—and Site EHSQ—which offers support to work sites to operate safely.
Main Objective:
Ensure that BASF's global and national requirements in terms of safety are met at Montevideo's Hub facilities, ensuring optimal working conditions for employees
Main Tasks:
- Ensure the follow-up of the occupational risk prevention plan and compliance with local and global requirements
- Lead and execute hazard identification and risk assessment
- Manage and train the emergency response team
- Perform monitoring and control of contractors
- Provide occupational health and safety training
- Ensure accessibility to the physical environment, including the implementation of adjustments for an accessible workplace
- Lead incident investigations and statistical control
- Lead waste management, training, and improvement activities
- Monitor environmental indicators (energy, water, waste), leading initiatives to improve them
- Extract and analyze data to identify trends
- Actively participate in the development of systems, the implementation of improvements, and the optimization of internal work and management control procedures
- Support the team, driving synergies and best practices
Requirements:
- Education: Safety Technician or Occupational Health Technologist
- Working Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar roles.
- Language Skills: English advanced
- Soft Skills: communication and interpersonal relationship; decision making capacity; successfully work in a cross functional, multinational, virtual business environment; collaboration skills for achievement; service mindset and customer orientation; managing change.
- Tools & Technology Skills: Advanced technological skill in Microsoft Office.
