In the Uruguay HUB, we have the Human Resources Services (HRS) department, where we support the employee journey of over 23,000 BASF employees, from their onboarding to their offboarding. In March 2021, we began building the Human Resources team for the Americas, which now consists of over 200 individuals impacting the entire value chain of BASF. Among other responsibilities, the team is involved in talent attraction and recruitment, employer branding, talent development, compensation and benefits design, and the operation of administrative processes related to human resources management.

 

Main Objective of the Position

Leverage the compensation function for NA from a technical perspective, including reporting audits, data analysis, salary/compensation reviews, predictive analytics and analytical tasks in general.

 

Main Tasks

  • Support the administration of the annual merit and incentive cycle programs.
  • Support HR colleagues on inquires / escalations related to individual salary decisions and performance management cycle processes.
  • Be responsible for employee data integrity.
  • Participate in compensation initiatives such as development of sales incentive plans, mergers and acquisitions reporting, etc. throughout the year.
  • Perform routine compilation and analysis of data, support the job administration function within HR’s SAP system, meet other compensation SAP requirements and provide reports and presentations to represent results of own or team’s efforts.
  • Audit large data sets to determine accuracy of current state, data anomalies and business trends that support predictive analytics.
  • Provide analytical support and subsequent compensation recommendations to legal entity and HR teams on performance management related topics.
  • Collaborate with global topics and communities on advanced compensation needs, system configuration and testing to ensure the voice / needs of the NA region are addressed.
  • Consult with and serve as a technical liaison between business, external partners (where applicable) and OD HR teams.

 

Requirements for the Position

  • Education: University degree in HR, Business Administration, IT or similar
  • Working Experience: 8+ years of increasingly challenging HR experience, which ideally will include at least 3-5 years intensive experience in the Compensation, Finance, IT or related field. 
  • Language Skills: Advanced level of English and Spanish.
  • Technical Skills: Solid project management and consultative skills, advanced skills in Excel, project management, strong qualitative and analytical skills including manipulating data, reporting and building presentations.
  • Soft Skills: excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, strong collaboration and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proactive decision-making ability and problem-solving skills. Ability to work with highly confidential information while working in a time sensitive environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Project Experience: Relevant project experience (IT, HR, etc.) of over 3 years
  • Tools & Technology Skills: Proven advanced experience and knowledge of SAP & Success Factors.
