Main Objective
Act as a trusted advisor to product and DevOps teams by providing solution-oriented consulting, architectural guidance, and hands-on enablement to design and implement cloud-native solutions based on standardized cloud and infrastructure services.

 

Tasks

  • Consult product and DevOps teams on the design and implementation of modern cloud native solutions across AWS, Azure, Aliyun Cloud, and on-premises environments with a global focus.
  • Translate business, application, and infrastructure requirements into implementable solution patterns and pragmatic architectural recommendations.
  • Create and maintain reference implementations, reusable patterns, and technical guidance for cloud-native development using Infrastructure as Code.
  • Advise teams on how to improve scalability, security, stability, and maintainability of their solutions by applying modern engineering principles and best practices.
  • Contribute to the evolution of cloud and infrastructure service offerings by providing solution feedback, architectural input, and implementation experience from delivery teams.
  • Support internal teams in navigating the end-to-end infrastructure demand lifecycle and in aligning their requests with BASF’s demand fulfillment processes.
  • Drive requirement clarity and completeness in early demand phases to enable efficient evaluation, smoother implementation, and faster delivery.
  • Act as a key interface between product teams, DevOps teams, infrastructure service providers, and request management stakeholders to align solution needs and delivery constraints.
  • Facilitate effective collaboration between internal business partners, project teams, external providers, and internal IT teams to enable successful solution adoption and implementation.

 

Requirements

  • Education: Degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Business Informatics or in a comparable field.
  • Working Experience: 
    • 5-8 years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, or cloud-native application development.
    • 5-8 years of experience in designing and implementing cloud-native solutions in enterprise environments.
    • 35-8 years of experience working with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and agile delivery models (e.g. Scrum).
    • 5-8 years of experience in hybrid architecture environments, integrating cloud platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS) with on-premises solutions.
    • 3-5 years agile project experience (nice to have).
  • Language skills: Advanced level in English.
  • Technical skills: 
    • Advanced skills in cloud-native architecture and modern application design.
    • Advanced skills in solution architecture across applications, integration, and data layers.
    • Advanced skills in cloud platforms and cloud services (e.g. Azure, AWS).
    • Intermediate skills in container technologies, APIs, automation, and infrastructure architecture.
    • Intermediate skills in DevOps methodologies and CI/CD tools and practices
    • Intermediate skills in security principles for cloud and enterprise environments.
    • Basic to Intermediate skills in programming and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, Java, or JavaScript.
  • Soft skills: 
    • Advanced consulting and communication skills

    • Advanced strategic thinking skills
    • Advanced innovation and continuous learning mindset
    • Advanced self-organized working skills with entrepreneurial mindset
