Objectives

 

  • Achieve sustainable, profitable business growth for the Plastics Additives Converter in line with the yearly Target Agreement and business plan.
  • Develop and realize marketing and sales strategy including distributor management and account management.
  • Dedicate market development (MOF) together with Innovation & Tech. Center (ideas/seeds, ISB), and Regional Business Development, and customer management by initially identifying potential customers, provision of updated market intelligence to Senior/Department Manager, coordination with customer services/logistics personnel where necessary.
  • Ensure to implement Safety and Compliance to all relevant policies.

 

Main Tasks

 

  • Safety First: Follow corporate guidelines to ensure safety at all levels wherever possible. Regularly review safety topics with supervisors. Ensure that all activities are conducted in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Manage Plastic Additives business in Converter area in terms of relevant business KPIs (refer to Sales Incentive Program as well as other relevant KPIs as defined in annual target by LBM or RBU.)
  • Manage Plastic Additives business in Converter area in terms of non-KPI related aspects – i.e. Distributor Management, long-term Customer Relationship build-up & mgmt., Market Intelligence, Sales Processes, Business Compliance and special projects.
  • Effectively distributor management and implement to realize sustainable business growth.
  • Contribute to the Plastic Additives’ innovation pipeline by feeding new ideas into the various channels (e.g. SEED tool, etc.). Interact closely with Plastic Additives Technical Competence Center in Shanghai and regional business development (BD).
  • Be accountable to negotiate and close deals or contracts with customers and provide operational guidance and support to the relevant functional departments to ensure implementation. Business case, risk management and operations are taken into considerations.
  • Support ‘One Enterprise/BASF’ approach by actively supporting XBU business development activities on a country and/or regional level. Support Industry Teams in China and actively contribute to MDP China.
  • Support digital marketing (e-commerce) and horizontal projects.
  • Implement and optimize Customer Experience (‘e.g NPS’).

 

Requirement

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemicals.
  • Working Experience: >5 years of business experience.
  • Technical & Professional Knowledge: Good knowledge on Plastics related industry, preferably on plastics additives field and fluent in English and Chinese.
  • Good English and Chinese communication skills.
