Where the Chemistry Happens…

The purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive management of assigned client relationships and related IT systems to ensure optimal performance and meet existing and future needs for R&D IT projects at BASF Agricultural Solutions. The selected candidate will:

Help in designing technology solutions, considering budget, risk and other organizational and environmental factorsDeliver and support applications and tools that adhere to regulatory and GLP compliance

Subject matter expert for network solutions, back up and retention policies

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, provide new technical solutions and enhancements in line with research and business objectives

Manage efforts to identify, develop, test, and deploy enhancements to existing applications while working closely with developers and the research community

Lead development teams through standup meetings as-appropriate for continuous improvement of our technology

Coordinate vendor and contractor activities

Formula for Success: You Will…

Education

Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Biological Sciences preferred

Will substitute 10 years’ experience in lieu of degree

Experience

IT Project Management experience with Agile and scrum

Experience working with scientific research applications or a good foundational knowledge of scientific concepts is preferred

Knowledge of relational and non-relational database technologies a plus

Experience with any of the following: Java, .NET, Java Script, Oracle, SQL Server, IIS, Unix, Windows server

Deploying advanced algorithm and automation capabilities (e.g. AI, Machine Learning, etc) preferred

Familiarity with cloud computing and data analytics is desirable

At least five years relevant industry experience required

Knowledge/Skills

Project management using scrum/agile required

Ability to communicate well with key users, developers, and scientific researchers

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Functional competencies needed include: analytical thinking, interpersonal skills, negotiation skills, problem solving, functional analysis, and documentation

Ability to work in a multicultural environment with global teams

Practical development experience with ability to create and communicate user stories to a development team
