Where the Chemistry Happens

 

The Performance Materials for Construction business at BASF prides itself in offering a comprehensive range of solutions to commercial, infrastructure, and residential construction markets.  We are seeking a professional like you to join our team and represent formulation development and technical service activities of rigid foams for panel applications (discontinuous and continuous panels, reefer, and doors) for North America.

 

As a technical service representative, you will:

  • Lead development projects using your polyurethane background.
  • Perform lab projects to address new opportunities and product needs in the market
  • Provide technical expertise on foam application to key accounts in coordination with the organization
There is an expectation of up to 25% travel associated with this role. 

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Formula for Success

 

  • Leveraging your contributions to commercial polyurethane product success, you will provide customers with process and formulation support for new and existing products in order to achieve business targets. 
  • Applying your proven problem-solving skills and your flexibility in thinking and interacting with people, you will work alongside a team to develop of new rigid foam products and product improvement; improved processing, next generation chemistry, raw material cost improvement and alternate raw material approval, etc.
  • Your robust analytical skills and strong ability to organize and prioritize projects and activity will aid you as you develop Technical Data Sheets and Technical Reports. Utilizing your hands-on experience and solid knowledge of high pressure processing equipment, as well as your knowledge of testing methods and procedures, you will manage product formulations to meet customer requirements. Successfully engaging across the organization, you will work closely with R&D, Manufacturing, Sales and Marketing to address customer needs in a timely manner and take new product developments to commercialization. Your commitment to workplace health and safety, exposure reduction programs and other safety measures will be evident as you work to ensure the health and safety of all.
