We are looking for a Maintenance Technician I (Second/Third Shift – Mechanical / Electrical & Instrumentation) to join our Performance Materials team in Wyandotte.

Join our team as a Maintenance Technician supporting our manufacturing operations on second and third shift. We’re seeking two versatile technicians who can perform mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation repairs—someone who enjoys variety and is eager to learn across disciplines

During your 12-hour evening or night shift as a Maintenance Technician, you will

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems and equipment to ensure safe and reliable plant operations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues in industrial electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Install, test, and verify new equipment and systems according to specifications, drawings, and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance team members and production staff to resolve equipment issues efficiently.
  • Document maintenance activities and communicate updates to supervisors and peers.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in training and cross-training to build proficiency across all required skill areas.

If you have...

 

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a 2-year skilled trades program (community college or similar) OR at least 3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant environment.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new skills and work independently after a period of mentored training.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems (not required to be an expert in all areas).
  • Experience with hand and power tools, and safe operation of forklifts or manlifts (preferred).
  • Experience with pneumatic cylinder, pumps, gearbox, and fabrication is a plus
  • Electrical troubleshooting skills, including basic competence with an electrical meter (preferred)
  • Experience with industrial electrical and mechanical hardware is a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Flexibility to work second or third shift, with occasional overtime or call-ins as needed.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
  • Work in a variety of environments, including heights, confined spaces, and around hazardous materials (with appropriate PPE).
