The Vidalia G-EVC/OV Site Manager reports directly to the Vice President, Global Operations. This role is responsible for translating the strategic and operational direction of the global operations unit into an integrated site strategy for Vidalia.

As a Site Manager, you create chemistry by...

 

  • Translating the strategic and operational direction of the global operations unit into an integrated site strategy for Vidalia while ensuring site priorities align with the Chemical Catalysts and Adsorbents Solutions strategy.
  • Leading approximately 60 BASF employees and driving performance against key KPIs, Operational Excellence metrics, and capital project milestones, while continuing to strengthen the safety culture, ensuring EHS compliance, developing talent, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Leading alignment and negotiations with the Union organization at the Vidalia site, as well as owning the site operating and capital budgets and driving technology improvements, manufacturing debottlenecking, efficiency gains, and on-time delivery performance according to specifications.
  • Driving process development and plant support strategy by owning all process development activities and aligning priorities, budgets, and execution plans with Catalysts division strategy, customer requirements, and Vidalia manufacturing capabilities.
  • Leading scale-up and commercialization support end-to-end, including planning and executing trials, pilot testing, scale-up activities, and technology transfer, while ensuring cross-functional readiness across EHS, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations so new and modified processes are implemented safely, reliably, and on schedule.
  • Translating technical work into operational performance by partnering with Product Managers, Operations, and Commercial teams to build customer-focused process solutions, support trial planning and on-site qualifications, and accelerate adoption and secure production volumes.
  • Governing the process development and plant support portfolio through KPI tracking, issue escalation, optimal resourcing, capability development, and clear accountability across Technical, Process Development, and Operations teams, as well as ensuring effective execution of development and manufacturing activities.
  • Protecting the license to operate by proactively managing regulatory interfaces and stakeholder engagement to sustain community and state approval for development and manufacturing activities.

If you...

 

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related technical field, with a Master's degree preferred, 
  • Bring a minimum of 12 years of manufacturing and/or technology experience within the chemical industry.
  • Have 2+ years of experience directly managing others.
  • Demonstrate strong cross-cultural orientation and communication skills.
  • Possess a strong EHS background, particularly related to safety culture and process safety.
