Shift Supervisor - Hydromet – (2201492) – Seneca, SC

Formula for Success: You Will…

•    Establish, reinforce, and support a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with all relevant EHS regulations and procedures/policies.    •    Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. •    Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise individual performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems. •    Set goals and objectives of the operations staff of the area •    Direct and coordinate activities concerned with production of company product(s) by performing the duties personally and/or through subordinates. •    Confer with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, and obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered. •    Plan and direct production activities and establish production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors. •    Coordinate production activities with purchasing, maintenance, and quality to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment. •    Review and analyze production, quality control, and maintenance activities. •    Implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality. •    Assist in revising production schedules and priorities because of equipment failure or operating problems. •    Consult with engineering personnel. •    Must be able to lift to 40 pounds.

•    Must be able to work day or night

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

•    High School Diploma or GED and 5 years of related experience within a Chemical manufacturing environment; OR Bachelor’s degree with 1 year of experience in a supervisory/leadership role within a Chemical manufacturing environment.  •    Solid experience managing large groups of operators. •    Lean Six Sigma experience is a plus. •    Intermediate to advanced computer skills and excellent math skills. •    Demonstrated ability to lead and influence others.
