We are looking for an Agricultural Biologist to join our Agricultural Solutions team in Research Triangle Park, NC.

We are looking for an Agricultural Biologist to join our Biology R&D - Herbicide Development Greenhouse and Laboratory Team in Research Triangle Park, NC. In this role, you will work closely with team members to plan and carry out greenhouse, growth chamber, and laboratory experiments that support the development of new herbicide products and provide market support for commercial products. You will be responsible for all daily activities required to successfully conduct assigned greenhouse/lab herbicide studies to support projects across North America. You’ll lead your own projects while actively collaborating with colleagues to achieve shared goals and drive collective success.

As an Agricultural Biologist, you create chemistry by...

 

  • Designing and executing herbicidal research on new active ingredients and new product concepts, special problem-solving projects, and providing off-season support activities.
  • Propagating and maintaining greenhouse plants; planning, coordinating, and managing greenhouse and laboratory herbicide trials; collecting, analyzing, and reporting data; preparing formal reports and delivering occasional presentations.
  • Developing trial methodologies and protocols and providing recommendations for further research work or product use patterns.
  • Identifying and pursuing opportunities to add value to products in the marketplace and/or R&D projects at the regional and global level.  
  • Providing technical support to Marketing, Sales, and external customers through information, materials, training, and presentations.
  • Collaborating within a multidisciplinary team; supervising and training temporary staff or interns.
  • Managing Responsible Care (RC) Program components, including chemical inventory and genetic resources; contribute to JSA/SOP development and train personnel on safe practices.

If you...

 

  • Have a MS or BS degree in Agricultural field.
  • Have a MS degree with less to 1 year of of relevant greenhouse or field experience or a BS degree with 3-5 years of relevant greenhouse or field experience.
  • Demonstrate applied experience and knowledge of agronomic practices and crop protection research methods.
  • Exhibit strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate research results.
  • Demonstrate practical knowledge of computers and software necessary for communication, data collection / analysis and knowledge sharing (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams). Experience with ARM Software, preferred.
  • Display hands-on experience propagating and managing weed species and crops and conducting herbicide trials in greenhouse settings, preferred.
  • Have knowledge of weed identification, herbicide chemistry and research design, preferred.
  • Have experience conducting herbicide resistant screening trials in a greenhouse setting, preferred.
  • Possess knowledge of North American crop production including corn, soybean, cotton, rice, and wheat, preferred.
  • Are able to travel less than 5%, domestically.
