The Production Supervisor is accountable to the Operations Manager and is responsible to control the bulk raw material receipt, unloading and storage of the materials in the defined receiving areas and formulation of the finished product. The Production Supervisor is responsible to ensure all of these activities are performed in a safe and timely manner in accordance with the internal, external, Federal, Provincial and Municipal Environmental Health and Safety regulations. They will also lead a team of direct reports and contingent workers to successfully achieve the production schedule while ensuring adherence to all site policies and procedures.
As a Production Supervisor, you create chemistry by...
- Recruiting, developing, motivating, and providing leadership to the Production Department ensuring the department functions in an efficient manner, managing employee time and attendance and performance management process.
- Monitoring the movement of inbound bulk material and providing direction for destination and storage, coordinating the delivery appointments, unloading, inspection, placement and documentation of inbound bulk materials.
- Coordinating the use of storage tanks/pumps, including the timing and rotation of bulk materials stored, as per production schedule.
- Ensuring the efficient and accurate formulation of the company’s products.
- Maintaining accurate raw material and formulation records of the company’s products and materials.
- Participating and ensuring compliance with all Corporate HSE policies, site procedures, regulatory and industry standards, AWSA, ISO, Responsible Care and internal audit examinations.
- Continually looking to improve departmental quality, productivity, and safety through continuous improvement.
- Ensuring a high level of housekeeping standards are maintained.
If you have...
- A Grade 12 Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 5 years experience in a production environment.
- Minimum 2 years of leadership experience is preferred.
- Ability to work within a fast-paced team environment.
- Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills and excellent teamwork and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced working knowledge of applicable Federal, Provincial, Municipal, Industrial regulations and Environmental Health and Safety standards (TDG, WHMIS, Occupational Health, Responsible Care).
- Solid technical knowledge of material handling equipment and infrastructure.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of corporate policies and procedures.
