Now hiring! Senior Millwright

Pasadena, TX (On-site)

Annual bonus / Overtime pay eligible

We are looking for a Senior Millwright to join our Petrochemicals (CP) team in Pasadena, TX.

Come create chemistry with us!

BASF’s Petrochemical division is the starting point of BASF's petrochemical value creation worldwide, also known as “the heart of the Verbund,” representing the world's largest chemical markets. Together, let us keep the heart beating one creative solution at a time!

As a Senior Millwright you will support safe, reliable, and high quality mechanical maintenance in an industrial manufacturing environment. This role performs advanced mechanical work while providing technical leadership in job planning, SAP PM work management, and quality control. The Senior Millwright plays a key role in ensuring maintenance work is planned correctly, executed right the first time, and documented accurately.

During your 4/10 shift as a Senior Millwright, you will

  • Install and inspect rotating and stationary equipment, including pumps, compressors, gearboxes, agitators, and fans, and then troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul these assets to restore reliability and ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform precision maintenance by completing laser alignment, bearing and seal replacement, and full pump rebuilds. You will also conduct post‑maintenance inspections, functional testing, and quality control checks to confirm equipment readiness prior to being returned to service.
  • Support maintenance job planning by reviewing work scopes and by kitting and staging parts, tools, labor, and special equipment. Additionally, you will participate in job walk downs and pre‑job briefs, and coordinate closely with Operations and Planning to ensure safe and efficient execution.
  • Work within SAP PM to review and execute work orders, task lists, and job plans, as well as provide accurate post‑job feedback in SAP PM by documenting labor hours, parts used, failure findings, and improvement recommendations. You will assist with managing and collecting PM routing data and equipment inspection forms to support asset reliability.
  • Identify workmanship issues, planning gaps, and repeat failures, and support continuous improvement efforts by helping implement corrective actions. Mentor and support other millwrights by reinforcing proper planning practices, precision maintenance techniques, and high-quality workmanship standards.
  • Follow all safety, LOTO, permit, environmental, and mechanical integrity requirements. Additionally, you will maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance shop and work areas by practicing good housekeeping, properly storing tools and materials, promptly cleaning up spills and debris, and eliminating trip, slip, and fire hazards.

If you...

  • Have a High school diploma or GED, with Journeyman Millwright certification or equivalent industrial experience.
  • Possess 7+ years of industrial maintenance experience, with strong experience with rotating equipment and mechanical systems. Prior mentoring or lead craft experience will be a plus.
  • Have experience in chemical, petrochemical, refinery, or heavy industrial manufacturing, and supporting or improving maintenance job plans will both be a plus.
  • Have working knowledge of SAP PM work orders and job execution.
  • Display commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and reliability.
  • Are able and willing to work overtime, on call rotations, and shutdowns as required.
  • Have been previously exposed to reliability program management and development will be a plus.
