Project Engineer II (2103621) – Monaca, PA

Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking a professional like you to provide technical engineering assistance for the development and execution of capital projects. You will provide support to other technical initiatives as needed for operational support and plant optimization. In addition, you will work in close collaboration with other project engineers/managers at the site, providing technical support for capital project management when needed.

Formula for Success

    Demonstrating your strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint (Microsoft Project and SAP preferred) and your effective interpersonal and communication skills, you will assist with engineering for capital and/or expense projects as determined by site/business priorities and capital spending budget. Assistance includes scope development, cost estimating, POM development, SAP entry, procurement, construction, commissioning, startup, VIP Reviews, and EHS Step Reviews.  All such activities must be done in strict accordance to current BASF Capital Project Policies and Procedures and projects must meet budgetary and time constraints and be completed safely. Using your strong analytical & mechanical aptitude and ability to collaborate effectively with other functions, you will provide engineering support to operations and maintenance as needed for process troubleshooting, reliability improvements and problem solving. These efforts may require formal team participation or leadership, but also may involve informal work groups. Leveraging your education in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering and your experience working in a chemical manufacturing environment, you will provide engineering support toward efforts to improve plant processes and reduce costs.  Depending on the nature of the opportunity, this may be accomplished through participation on teams or as an individual effort. Your ability to successfully work independently under the collaborative direction and supervision of the Project Engineering Manager will be essential as you receive direction in the form of project assignments, with periodic follow up to determine progress, obstacles, and a path forward.  Capital project financial responsibility will be $500,000.
