Where the Chemistry Happens…
We are looking for an Agrotechnologist High Tech Tomatoes to act as a technical reference to customers with extensive subject matter expert knowledge and responsible for developing growing concepts and solutions that maximize our genetics and growing recipe for key High-Tech customers. In this position, you will play a key role in Business Support towards the crop team and customer team by acting as a consultant to drive sales. You will take responsibility to raise the technical knowledge of the sales team and with customers through education and support. You will maintain an industry wide network, connecting APV to investment and technological opportunities. With an external focus, you will build and deliver concepts and other solutions towards sales and customers that differentiate BASF APV – Nunhems.
Formula for Success: You Will…
- Develop growing concepts and growing protocols for our genetics through research, trial design and results, working closely with Breeding, Regional and Local Specialists in Product Development, Trials Technicians and Sales to bring growing concepts to our key customers.
- Increase our overall trialing excellence in the crop/area of focus, improving data accuracy, data relevance (in screening & trials) and data usage to better drive decisions and knowledge on our genetics.
- Be connected to industry advancements, raising the technical level of the sales team through structured and ad hoc training and support acting as the 'internal consultant'.
- Provide and develop solutions for customers to support sales activities in delivering overall value to customers. Make our genetics easy to sell and our technical approach attractive/valuable and differentiated.
- Play a distinct role in ‘Customer Team’ delivering high level technical knowledge towards key customers aligned with sales and marketing. Special attention to fresh investments and positioning BASF-Nunhems as a company valuable in consultation, high value, and bringing solutions.
- Improve our reputation and the network of BASF-Nunhems, building an external network of potential collaborators and information providers and working as a technical reference in the market.
- Act as Key Contact for research institutions and other bodies from Crop perspective, responsible for ensuring related project success and conclusion (aligned to Crop Strategy).
- Act as a champion for use of Data in decision making as it relates to product performance and help drive use of Digital Solutions within the Hi-Tech team.
Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- BSc in Agriculture or related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a role connected to expertise required, including crop management. Candidates with more experience are encouraged to apply.
- Demonstrated agronomical skills relevant to the crop.
- Competent in the use of productivity tools and functional product development knowledge.
- Excellent communication, collaboration and presentation skills.
- Skilled in Analysis and interpretation of Data as well as coordination of different tasks and priorities.
- Native level of English. French and/or Spanish is a plus.
- Competences such as: Market knowledge and vision, Product Assortment knowledge, Result Orientation, Decisiveness and assertiveness, Accountability & Ownership, and Commercial mindset.
- Leadership skills with a focus in customer orientation and knowledge exchange.
