We are seeking a professional like you to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining forecast in demand planning with transparency to supply planning (OMP) within North America for finished goods.
You will be responsible for the continuous improvement of our BASF demand planning systems and processes applied to streamline activities. Additionally, you will lead Demand/Supply Chain projects to improve forecasting and support the S&OP process and coordinate demand planning activities throughout the cross functional groups within Chemical Intermediates.
As a Senior Demand Planner, you create chemistry by...
- Driving continuous improvement practices and developing action plans to create sustainable demand planning processes. This includes creating visibility to these processes throughout organization.
- Acting as process and application expert for both Demand Planning, SAP APO DP, including all 3 types of demand: 3rd Party, Transfer and Export.
- Providing second level support for technical and business issues for all regions. Additionally, you will investigate and provide resolutions for forecast issues.
- Having advanced knowledge of how data is transferred within applications and between, you will be responsible for daily maintenance, data analysis, and interface integrity between forecasting and ERP/OMP systems, including 3rd Pty, Transfer, Export and Financial Forecast.
- Analyzing the Demand Planning System’s forecast and providing direction/assistance on how to improve forecast accuracy. You will also review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
- Obtaining information regarding future demand from cross-functional teams and analyzing, communicating, and implementing accordingly.
- Acting as a liaison between Supply Planning, Sales, Product Management, and Controlling for all forecast-related issues.
- Supporting reporting and S&OP preparation, including designing/creating needed reports and maintaining existing reports.
- Coordinating further enhancements to the processes/system and sharing best practices in the planning community (both regionally, as well as globally).
If you have...
- A Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, IT or a business related area.
- 5+ years of experience in demand planning.
- Solid project management skills, ability to deal with conflicting deadlines and priorities, and strong organizational planning skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- ERP functional/process understanding, proficiency in SAP APO DP, OMP, and R3, and advanced knowledge of Excel (MS Access is a plus).
