We are looking for a Senior AI & Digital Transformation Lead to join our Global Procurement team in Houston, TX.

Global Indirect Procurement (GPI) is respon­sible for purchasing technical goods and services for BASF Group. We understand the business needs, are close to our stakeholders, drive cost savings, innovation and sustainable practices by negotiating with suppliers and managing vendor relationships.

We’re looking for a professional to lead our evolution from experimentation to execution. In this role, you’ll spearhead the implementation of automation, generative AI, and intelligent systems that enable more human-centered, data-driven, and creative work. It’s a unique opportunity to blend strategy, enablement, and systems design—turning bold ideas into scalable impact.

You’ll lead the integration of automation, generative AI, and intelligent systems into indirect procurement, turning ideas into scalable solutions. This role combines strategy, enablement, and design to deliver impactful tools, empower teams, and champion responsible AI practices.

As a Senior AI & Digital Transformation Lead - Indirect Procurement, you create chemistry by...

• Collaborating with leadership to define and refining an AI strategy that aligns with business objectives, meets ethical standards, and delivers measurable outcomes.
• Creating or enhancing tools that boost productivity, provide deeper category insights, support site account plans, and strengthen stakeholder engagement.
• Representing NA as a digital champion by supporting idea development, piloting, testing, deployment, and providing first-line support for global solutions.
• Designing workshops and internal programs to elevate AI literacy and empower indirect procurement teams.
• Establishing successful metrics such as ROI, adoption rate, and efficiency improvements, and regularly communicating results to stakeholders.
• Partnering with legal, compliance, and data experts to uphold fairness, transparency, and accountability throughout AI initiatives.
• Implementing platforms for ongoing experimentation, enabling teams to respond quickly to advancements in AI technologies.

If you...

• Bring 5+ years of experience in analytics, AI, digital transformation, or data engineering, with a strong technical foundation.
• Drive roadmap strategy, translating business needs into scalable AI or analytics products.
• Build automation and data solutions using Python, SQL, and cloud platforms like Azure.
• Develop AI-powered workflows and tools, including agents and decision-support systems.
• Work in modern development environments (e.g., VS Code) and use visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
• Manage programs or products, defining requirements, prioritizing work, and delivering results.
• Influence cross-functional stakeholders and champion adoption in fast-paced, global environments.
