Labor Relations Analyst (1902363) – Geismar, LA 

 

Where the Chemistry Happens

 

We are seeking a professional like you to serve as a Labor Relations Analyst for our Geismar, Louisiana, site, the largest of the corporation's North American manufacturing locations. The Geismar site includes 26 plants that manufacture many different products, including urethanes, chemical intermediates and surfactants. Under the direction of the Labor Relations Manager, you will be accountable for Labor Relations support to the Geismar Plant.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

You will use your skills and education to:

  • Administer the job posting procedure
  • Develop and maintain record keeping systems including grievance logs, overtime and seniority reports, disciplinary logs, and departmental reporting scorecards
  • Support operational supervision in researching past practices and provide relevant data to support decision making in change processes, contract administration and disciplinary action procedures
  • Serve as the site administrator for Drug Testing Protocols
  • Support ongoing renewals of the Collective Bargaining Agreement including data gathering, wage survey administration, and recordkeeping
  • Support operator recruiting and hiring activity at the Geismar site.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a union represented manufacturing environment Experience in developing and maintaining recordkeeping systems Experience in preparing for arbitration cases Demonstrated knowledge of the National Labor Relations Act and other U.S. state and federal laws and governmental compliance requirements.   Demonstrated knowledge of current and progressive principles and practices of human resources management.   Demonstrated ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks including resolving complaints, and counseling managers and employees on the interpretation of policies, procedures and other business issues.   Demonstrated ability to communicate (verbal and written), interact, and influence with all levels including production technicians, staff associates, and senior management.  Demonstrated use of sound judgment and ability to make decisions in a fair & consistent manner.
