We are looking for a Continuous Improvement Specialist to join our Monomers (CM) team in Wyandotte, MI or Geismar, LA.

Come create chemistry with us!

BASF Monomers is a leading supplier of isocyanates, inorganics, polyamides, and ammonia. Our products are used in many downstream applications including the production of foams, adhesives, textiles, automobiles, food production, paper, packaging, wire, cable, clothing, and so much more. Monomers go into the production of countless household and industrial goods and make a positive impact on people's lives every day. As an essential business in BASF’s overall Verbund (interconnected value chain) system, Team Monomers is committed to help our customers reach their sustainability targets by expanding our portfolio of lower CO2 footprint products and circular solutions.

As a Continuous Improvement Specialist, you will drive quality, compliance, and performance improvements across the organization by leading structured continuous improvement initiatives, providing disciplined nonconformance management oversight, and enabling effective cross functional collaboration to deliver sustainable business and financial results.

As a Continuous Improvement Specialist, you create chemistry by...

  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, cost, service, and process performance.
  • Providing centralized oversight and coordination of nonconformance management (NCM) activities, including intake, investigation, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and follow up.
  • Acting as subject matter expert for NCM processes and systems, identifying opportunities to improve process discipline and data quality, by analyzing performance and NCM data to identify trends, systemic risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Driving structured problem solving and accountability for corrective actions across the value chain.
  • Supporting KPI reviews, corrective action governance, and follow up to ensure sustainable results.
  • Coordinating cross functional stakeholders, including sites, logistics partners, tollers, and suppliers, to align improvement actions and execution. You will also support and participate in customer and supplier audits and questionnaires in coordination with Site Quality teams, and provide analytical support for business cases, customer or supplier behavior change initiatives, and cost recovery related to nonconformances.

If you...

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related fields.
  • Possess 8+ years of Supply Chain and Continuous Improvement experience.
  • Have a strong understanding of chemical value chains, from raw materials through customer impact. Understanding of BASF or Monomers (CM) particularities will be highly valued.
  • Possess solid knowledge of nonconformance management (NCM), corrective action, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Display strong analytical, reporting, and data interpretation skills with high attention to detail.
  • Have clear and effective communication skills across all organizational levels, with the ability to influence and coordinate multiple stakeholders without direct authority, and the ability to drive actions to closure and sustain improvements over time.
