We are looking for a Production Director to join our Monomers team in Freeport, TX.

As the Production Director, you will be accountable for the Ammonia, Ammonia Terminal, Hydroxylamine and Cyclohexanone units in the Monomers Division. These plants are integral to the Polyamide value chain at the Freeport site and have process links to other plants onsite as well. Production is regulated by OSHA PSM (Process Safety Management) and EPA RMP (Risk Management Plan) due to the handling of molecules including ammonia, cyclohexane, and benzene. The Ammonia Plant and Terminal are part of a joint venture, so you will be responsible for supporting that relationship. The Production Director serves as a member of the Freeport Manufacturing Leadership Team responsible for the overall management of the Freeport Site and will interact with peers across 5 different business units and site infrastructure.

  • Providing leadership, direction, and focus for all manufacturing activities.  You will be responsible for fixed costs, maintenance & capital investment in the plants as well as the on-going strategic development of the technology.
  • Leading a broad range of activities and people and team development in an organization with more than 90 direct and indirect report. Among those activities, you will be responsible for building a high performing team that exemplify the culture and behaviors required by BASF, developing and empowering talent throughout the organization (salaried and hourly), coaching, influencing, and guiding others.
  • Serving as a role model, to drive a culture where process safety, continuous improvement, product innovation, breakthrough performance, and an enjoyable work environment are expectations of all team members.
  • Identifying and managing all operational risks including EHS, regulatory, quality, cost, equipment optimization and reliability. In line with this, you will ensure that all processes and activities comply with BASF policies, regulations and our values for safety, quality, environmental and financial stewardship. 

 

If you...

 

  • Have a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related
  • Possess extensive experience in Operations/Manufacturing and Maintenance in a chemical/petrochemical manufacturing, oil & gas or refinery environment
  • Have previous experience in Operations/Manufacturing or Maintenance leadership roles, with a strong track record of successfully developing and implementing strategies in large, complex organizations
