We are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our Monomers (CM) team in Freeport, TX.

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the mechanical engineering support to an assigned area of the site.  You will also be responsible for collaboration with Production and Maintenance personnel and providing services related to design review, repair and maintenance, including predictive/preventative maintenance activities.  Additionally, this position provides technical support to Root Cause Failure Analyses, troubleshooting of problems, and monitoring PM and PdM programs. Finally, this position also ensures a culture of continuous improvement employing LEAN Manufacturing tools.

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you create chemistry by...

  • Providing technical support to the Maintenance Supervisor, specialists and craftsmen on difficult equipment repair issues.
  • Participating in Root Cause Failure Analysis and execute corrective actions for complex and/or repetitive problems. Providing troubleshooting support and recommendations to operating units on equipment reliability including emergency work reviews.
  • Being a part of the “Bad Actor” program and create action plans for improving reliability.
  • Supporting the reliability processes to drive improvements, optimize costs and improve asset effectiveness (Bad Actor Management, FMEA, RBI, RBM, RCM, Reliability Roadmap, etc.).
  • Establishing, monitoring and optimizing Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) plans.
  • Providing input for Maintenance Budget.
  • Evaluating new technologies and alternatives for equipment repair, seeking cost and delivery advantages.
  • Supporting capital projects by supplying engineering support in the specification, design and construction of projects in accordance with plant design requirements, BASF standards and regulatory requirements.

If you...

 

  • Have a BS in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Count with 1+ yrs of experience working with; rotating and fixed equipment, centrifugal pumps, piping systems, pressure vessels (including heat exchangers), atmospheric storage tanks, positive displacement pumps, relief devices and compressors of various design.
  • Have a sold foundational knowledge of maintenance work processes.
  • Possess working experience with Knowledge API and ASME codes, vibration analysis and equipment lubrication programs
  • Have proven ability to communicate effectively with facts and figures along with the ability to influence, persuade and negotiate. Strong interpersonal skills are required in this position.
