Continuous Improvement Black Belt – (2102120) – Freeport and Houston-Katy Freeway, TX

 

Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking a professional like you, to serve as an integral part of the continuous improvement program at the Freeport, TX site.  You will prioritize and drive Lean Six Sigma opportunities in addition to providing Lean Six Sigma coaching and support for the Site Managers, Green Belts, and Yellow Belts.  In this role, you will help to foster an environment of continuous improvement and drive execution of project opportunities.

 

Applicants residing in the Houston area will be expected to travel to Freeport on a regular basis

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Formula for Success

 

  • Leveraging your education in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering combined with your professional experience in driving reliability and continuous improvement (preferably with the chemical/petrochemical industry), you will serve as the focal point and champion for driving continuous improvement efforts across two North American Industrial Petrochemical sites in Texas.
 

  • Your strong project management experience will be a valued asset as you lead large, complex improvement projects through all the stages of the Lean Six Sigma process (DMAIC) across North American Industrial Petrochemicals organization to completion and realize business benefits.
 

  • As a trusted advisor, you will coach and mentor managers and employees in the use of Lean Six Sigma tools through the completion of Yellow Belt and Green Belt projects.
 

  • Successfully engaging across the organization, you will work with process owners in the following manner:  perform data analysis, find root causes for identified problems, document via flowcharting existing processes, and other continuous improvement techniques as needed.
 

  • Directing a professional team, you will lead, train, and coach Green Belts and other associates leading improvement projects and implementing continuous improvement methodologies.
 

    Your strong organization and communication skills will be essential as you identify and prioritize top continuous improvement opportunities.  You will then present recommendations to the North American Industrial Petrochemicals leadership team.
