As a Site Manager, you will be responsible for providing single-point accountability for the safe, compliant, and reliable operation of the Cornwall manufacturing site. The position is responsible for leading production, maintenance, asset management, security, quality, Responsible Care, and administrative activities, while ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, BASF, and Responsible Care (RC) requirements and delivering sustainable business results.
As a Site Manager, you create chemistry by...
- Ensuring compliance with all BASF, municipal, provincial, and federal safety, environmental, quality, and security requirements, as well as acting as the site Responsible Care (RC) leader with full accountability for RC audit code compliance, audit preparation, execution, findings closure, and ongoing improvement.
- Providing overall leadership for site operations including production, maintenance, asset management, and logistics, while administering and interpreting personnel policies and collective labor agreements, including grievances and discipline; screening, selecting, developing, and coaching employees in both staff and union positions to build capability and alignment.
- Working closely with production planning, sales, and raw material supply to maximize output, quality, and cost performance. Additionally, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, reliability, quality, and competitiveness.
- Leading maintenance planning, emergency preparedness, environmental control, and industrial hygiene activities, as well as integrating preventative maintenance, incident readiness, and exposure‑control strategies to support a safe and resilient operating environment.
- Owning site budgets, operating expenses, and fixed costs, while supporting the development and execution of capital projects to ensure that investments strengthen performance, reliability, and compliance.
- Acting as the primary site representative to government agencies, regulators, and external stakeholders, while also serving as the focal point for internal and external communications to maintain transparency, alignment, and trust across all audiences.
If you have...
- University degree in Chemistry with an Engineering background or equivalent technical discipline.
- Extensive experience in chemical manufacturing or similarly regulated industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of Responsible Care, EHS, quality systems, and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to lead diverse organizations, including unionized workforces.
- Familiarity with BASF policies, programs, and North American Manufacturing Leadership expectations will be a plus.
