Where the Chemistry Happens

Formula for Success

Leveraging your education in Chemistry, Engineering, or Material Science, along with your relevant industry experience in water-based architectural coatings.

Providing technical, application, and formulation support for new and existing products to achieve sales targets.

Offering sales tools, support, and training to the Account Management team and customers.

Planning, organizing, developing, and performing customer lab projects.

Presenting results to customers in formal written reports and presentations.

Providing direct customer support for Technical and Sales Account Managers when in-depth product support is needed.

Driving Additives pipeline and facilitating sales growth in above markets, working across ED SBUs to ensure alignment.

Providing production technical service support to our defoamer platform  - remove (JM) (keep RB 1-2-25)

Through customer and market analysis, develop additive innovation pipeline for the NA architectural additives market. 

Work with R & D on product development and prepare market launch packages

Obtain a clear understanding of our customers' requirements and problems.

Propose solutions/new products to solve those problems.

Participate in cross-functional global teams to develop new products and share best practices.

Support Marketing, Sales, and Account Managers by providing product, customer, market, and industry information.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in chemistry or engineering.

10 plus years of experience relevant industry experience in formulating coatings for architectural or latex coatings.

Having first-hand experience in working with Additives in formulations in the above markets.

Collaborating effectively within the Technical Service team to accomplish goals through training on our products, demonstrating new product lines, and assisting Account Managers.

Staying current with trends, development, and innovations in the focus industries and the relevant product lines.

Maintaining knowledge of customer application testing.

Supporting business growth through paper presentations at trade shows/conferences and training of direct and indirect customers.

Possessing effective communication skills to help end-users and/or distribution partners be more proficient in product application, selling, and implementing new products, and generating a positive experience with BASF branded products.

Being able to lead a small team in new business development in select markets attractive to BASF Additives.

Utilizing Microsoft Office tools and leading presentations that focus on introducing new products to the market and supporting a better understanding of BASF branded products.

Building trust with customers that confidential information will remain private.
