The TIF (Transportation, Industrial, Furniture and Floor coatings) business within Dispersions, Resins and Additives regional business unit (N-EDN) is responsible for supplying raw materials to coatings formulators and producers in target industry segments through collaboration with global key accounts, regional customers and distribution partners.


The Dispersions & Resins business of BASF develops, produces and markets a range of high-quality resins, additives, colorants and polymer dispersions worldwide. These raw materials are used in formulations for coatings and paints, printing and packaging products, construction chemicals, adhesives, fiberbondings, nonwovens, and paper manufacturing. We are seeking a professional like you to join our Transportation, Industrial, Furniture and Floor Coatings team, based in Charlotte, NC, where you will support the overall success of the Dispersions & Resins business in North America.  In this role, you will be responsible for developing focused marketing and business development across all Resins, Additives and Dispersions product lines and developing the long-term strategy for one of our TIF segments.   This includes actively engage in “voice-of-customer” activities to identify innovation opportunities for assigned industry segments and input them into the innovation pipeline management.  You will also identify new business opportunities in the defined market (Business Development).

Formula for Success

Leveraging your education and experience in product management, marketing, sales, technical service, business development and/or business management with the ability to lead and coordinate programs and initiatives successfully, you will be responsible for developing and implementing Market Segment strategy and innovation roadmaps.  Additionally, you will develop and ensure implementation of industry specific strategy and product positioning strategy for assigned industry segment including strategy for positioning against competitive products (including value proposition).Demonstrating your ability to analyze markets, select target products and prepare and execute business strategies, you will assess the competitive landscape and develop the strategy for sustainable innovation.  This includes identifying industry specific trends, requirements, unmet customer needs, and key growth areas and opportunity fields.  Applying your solid business/financial acumen, you will manage industry specific profitability and growth targets.  You will also develop industry specific target pricing in conjunction with product management.Utilizing your ability to drive and support change management opportunities, you will initiate and manage Innovation / Phase Gate projects (Project Lead / Management role). Working as a highly motivated, self-starter, you will coordinate new product launches for assigned industry segments (including launch packages). Your excellent organizational and people skills will aid you as you establish value chain marketing including build-up of contacts at customer`s and customer`s customer marketing.Your keen attention to detail will be evident as you collect and validate market & competitive intelligence.Successfully engaging within the organization, you will develop and implement best practices to enhance organization’s marketing excellence and work closely with Sales team to develop marketing approach for the industrial segment including sales tools and promotional material for successful product launch and market pull.Your outstanding verbal and written communication and presentation skills will serve you well as you organize and participate in industry specific trade shows / fairs and ensure representation in key industry associations.
