Canola Seeds and Traits Specialist (ID: 2101124)

Location: Calgary 

Where the Chemistry Happens…

 

  • Support all Seeds and Traits marketing activities such as LCM (Life Cycle Management), Pricing, S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning), Trait GTM (Go to Market), Long term forecasts, Agronomic GTM (Go to Market) recommendations
 

    Marketing Lead for Special Projects and bringing Agronomic Recommendations to the market (seeding depth, planter and/or singulation recommendations, pelletization, InVigor RATE adjustments….)
 

Formula for Success: You Will…

 

    Support the GTM and communications for special projects
 

    Lead the positioning of agronomic recommendations that come from our AE (Agronomic Excellence) team
 

    Seeds marketing contact for all market research activities (Ag Data/BPI, Stratus, Kenna and others)
 

    Responsible for the creation and maintenance of competitor profiles (hybrids, pricing, special offers, disease, and agronomic positioning)
 

    Input and manage pricing and volume data into Market Connect
 

    Develop and update market models, forecasts, and plans for the short term (1 to 3-year outlook).
 

    Support the internal education for trait and agronomic positioning
 

    Manage seed demand requests for DST (Demonstration Strip Trial) /trial seeds/rep demo seed/ priority access/competitor seed volume
 

    Key contact for product inquiries (mouse damage, customer complaints, quality issues, seed QIFs (Quality Information FormX)
 

Qualifications

 

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…

 

    Bachelor’s Degree (Business, Marketing or Agriculture)
 

    3 – 5 years of related experience in a sales and / or a marketing-support role, preferably within the agricultural industry an asset
 

    Agriculture experience (Canola agronomy knowledge & experience preferred) and experience working on a high-performance team an asset
 

    Sound understanding of the Canadian agriculture market is an asset.
 

    Must have demonstrated strong analytical and communication skills, with the capability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
 

    Excellent strategic and critical thinking, ability to work with minimal supervision and takes personal initiative to ensure stakeholder requirements are met.
 

    Understanding of marketing, sales, and customer relationship management.
 

    A fundamental understanding of growers, distributors and agronomy for the canola seed industry including a basic understanding of canola breeding and production processes.
 

  • Must possess analytical and critical thinking skills as well as a proven record of achieving goals.
 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and working in cross functional teams
 

  • Strong collaboration and to ability to foster innovation, embrace and implement change, while working with multiple stakeholders
