Starting pay $33/hr and progressing to $42/hr.

We are looking for an Instrument and Electrical Technician Apprentice to join our Nutrition and Health team in Bishop TX.

As an Instrument & Electrical Technician Apprentice in our Bishop, TX plant, you will make an impact on the world with a fundamental focus on sustainability. As an Instrument & Electrical Technician Apprentice, you will be a part of a team which produces products that go into Ibuprofen – active pharmaceutical ingredient present in many name-brand and generic dosage forms (e.g. Advil, Brufen, Dolormin) and Nurofen and 4HAP – used as preservative in cosmetic products and an intermediate in drug manufacture (e.g. Albuterol & Atenolol), and more!

Starting in 2025, if not already graduated you will continue your Instrumentation academic program at Del Mar College while working and learning in our Bishop, TX site from some of the best in the business. During your time here we don't want you to sweat the small stuff so BASF will cover the remaining cost of your educational program, including books!

During your straight day shift as a Instrument & Electrical Technician Apprentice (Bishop, TX), you will learn to

•  Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and document plant instrumentation activities on, but not limited to: Transmitters (flow, level, pressure, temperature, etc) , measuring elements, control valves. automated valves, MOV's, etc.
• Gain a basic knowledge of DCS (Distributed Control Systems) and PLC's (Programmable Logic Controllers).
• Work on and troubleshoot equipment with voltages up to 480 VAC.
• Track and update assigned tasks in the maintenance management system (SAP) on a daily basis.
• Read and update electrical and instrument documents such as schematics, specifications, P&IDs and one-line diagrams.  

If you...

• Have a HS Diploma or GED.
• Can work in a plant environment and lift 50lbs.
• Are able to stand extended amounts of time.
• Are able to work in hot or cold environments.
• Are able to work 12hr fixed shifts (day OR night/weekends and holidays) 
• Are willing to enroll in and complete an Instrumentation academic program at Del Mar College to launch a career in Manufacturing.
